What Vanessa Does (part 2)

[Visual: Vanessa speaks to the camera while sitting in an office.]

Vanessa: Advice for someone coming into an interview-- I think you need to do your homework. Understand the company you're coming to potentially work for. Know the reasons why you think they're a good fit for you.

I think it's harder when you're younger and you're still figuring out what you want to do. And I think that's totally fine. But I think Wells is a place where we want to bring people in, and we want them to stay. And I think if you understand what our core focus is, what we're looking for, how we look to play for our customers and in the marketplace, then you can help determine whether you think it could be a good fit, and we're going to see whether we think you're a good fit. So come prepared, learn about the company, know what we're about.

And I'd say the other thing is, try to bring your full self to that interview. Because I think, more and more, all companies-- but I know Wells Fargo-- is focusing on valuing difference. And I think sometimes we all naturally look to fit in, and do it how everyone else does it. But I think that doesn't let you personally shine so you can show who you are and what you're capable of.
