Working at Wells Fargo – Enterprise Chief Information Office
[Music plays] Wells Fargo logo appears. Team members from the Enterprise Chief Information Office discuss the work of their group.
Nicholas Andrade, Technology Manager: The Enterprise CIO Group, or Enterprise Chief Information Office Group is responsible for the business applications that serve the Wells Fargo customers, and that’s serving everyone from you and me through huge corporations. We want to kind of be there wherever the customer needs us. You know, that could be in a branch, at home, it could be on the go. And we want to make it as convenient and as quick as possible for the customers.
Neha Bahalla, Business Initiatives Consultant: This is one of the things I love about working at Wells Fargo is that even though I’m part of the Innovation Technology Group, I’m interacting very closely with business partners in retail banking for example, who want to make ATMs better, or having solutions for biometric screening. And it gives me great pride in understanding that even though I’m part of one group, I really can interact with consumer lending, I can interact with retail banking, I can interact with wholesale banking. So meeting the needs of not only external customers but internal customers adds a lot of value in what I do every day.
Nicholas: I think Wells understands that as time goes on, it’s more important to focus on technology. That’s where a lot of the money movement is these days. There’s a huge investment in all types of technologies. As new things emerge, the bank is very quick to react and to put groups to look at it and figure out how we can integrate it.
Neha: One of the things I’m very proud of that we offer to the enterprise is the innovations lab. We enable the businesses to test their technology before things go in production, so that we know they’re in the safe environment. It’s a platform we have for the Enterprise, for people to use and that makes us good business partners.
Nicholas: I’ve seen a lot of different innovative projects within the bank, to take a look at new things. And it could be things that are new technology processes, like microsurfaces or new coding practices, in-development practices. Or it could be new consumer things, like the emergence of these digital assistants like Amazon Echo. And the bank is always very quick to respond.
