When he talks about his work at Wells Fargo Enterprise Global Services in the Philippines, Cedrick Lorenzo radiates positivity. “It’s fun to work at Wells Fargo. As a team we often come together and take time to talk to each other not just about work, but also about fun,” says the Technology project manager.

Having spent several years working in the call center industry in the United States and his native Philippines, Cedrick joined Wells Fargo in 2014 as a Resource Planning analyst in the contact center in the recently established Wells Fargo office in Manila. “For this job I was referred by a friend of mine at Wells Fargo,” recalls Cedrick. “It was a totally different experience from other organizations.” At the time, Wells Fargo was a new business in the country and it offered many opportunities for experienced professionals to make their mark.

Swift career progression

Using his extensive experience in Workforce Planning, Cedrick took the chance and within a year and a half moved to a role as a project coordinator in Technology and, in early 2016, took on the job of a project manager in Community Banking Technology.

Currently, he leads a project that makes sure that information delivered to customers by contact center operators is totally accurate. “To be able to progress away from your initial career path is not usually easy in other businesses. Not so at Wells Fargo,” says Cedrick.

Supportive culture

Another thing at Wells Fargo which continues to amaze Cedrick is the Wells Fargo culture. “The culture here is very appealing. Unlike in other organizations, at Wells Fargo priority is given to how team members feel. People actually schedule time to recognize other team members’ contributions to the business. The level of recognition is truly amazing. Team members really feel valued.”

Fun at work

There is more to life at Wells Fargo in the Philippines than just work. Cedrick and his team mates put in a lot of effort in helping disadvantaged children. Over the past three years, they have regularly spent time with children from a Manila orphanage, organizing lunches and games. They also make donations to schoolchildren in the capital.
