Investment Banking MBA Women’s Forum

Program Location: Charlotte, NC

Event Dates: Fall

Start exploring a career in Investment Banking with Wells Fargo Securities during this special Forum designed for women working toward their MBA. The event will help develop your understanding of the financial services industry, including career opportunities in investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities. During the forum, you’ll receive an overview of Wells Fargo’s history and culture, career and industry overview workshops, and networking opportunities. You’ll also gain experience reviewing real deals and case studies to further your development.

Event Date: Spring

Investment Banking Summer Associate Program

Program Length: 10-12 weeks

Explore what it's like to be an associate with Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) with investment banking, or sales and trading, and develop skills that will take you further in this competitive area of financial services. During the Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) Investment Banking Summer Associate Program, you'll be challenged to learn new things, and become part of one of Wall Street's fastest growing investment banks.

There, you'll help structure and execute transactions to raise capital for clients, and perform research and analysis to depict projected results. You'll also prepare client materials and participate in client interactions alongside senior bankers.

This will prepare you for a full-time associate role in Investment Banking once you complete your MBA.

Securities Operations Summer Internship Program

Program Location: Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; Minneapolis, MN

Program Length: 10 weeks

Start your path toward becoming a leader within Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) Operations by gaining broad exposure to the different areas of the capital markets operations teams that are critical to the platform’s success. The program begins with a week of in-person training that will give you a chance to learn more about the business, meet senior leaders, and network with your peers before you join one of the following operations areas:

  • Collateral Management
  • Exception Resolution
  • Equity Operations
  • Derivative Settlements
  • Commodities, Credit, Rates, and Middle Office
  • WFS Settlement Operations
  • WFS Operations Solutions
  • Project Management
  • Futures and Derivatives Clearing
  • Prime Services
  • Operations Control Group

After successfully completing the summer program, you will be eligible to participate in the full-time WFS Operations Leadership Program when you graduate.

   

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program within any major with a graduation date between within a year subsequent to program
  • Interns must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, personal motivation, distinguished written and verbal communication and presentation skills, excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team, and an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Coursework in financial accounting, corporate finance, mathematics or engineering
  • Energetic self-starter who is flexible, organized, conscientious, proactive, and detail-oriented

As a full-time associate in the WFS Investment Banking Associate Program, you’ll be placed in one of the following industry or product groups based on your interests and business needs:

At the beginning of the program, you’ll join other associates from across the country during an eight-week in-person training program focused on financial accounting, cash flow, credit analysis, financial modeling, valuation, and preparation for the Series 79 and 63 license exams. Additional training, which will continue to further your skills and provide you with the chance to deepen your network with other associates, will be available throughout the program.

 

Qualifications:

  • A second-year MBA student working to obtain a master’s degree in business administration with coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance with an anticipated graduation date by June prior to program start date

Securities Operations Leadership Program

Program Location: Charlotte, NC

Program Length: 22 months

Explore your future as a leader within Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) during the 22 month Wells Fargo Securities Operations Leadership Program, available to both undergraduate students and Masters candidates.

You'll begin seven three-month rotations throughout the operations areas within Wells Fargo Securities Operations. Moving between groups will help you develop a broad understanding of the business, while enhancing your adaptability, project management, and communication skills.

The program begins with intensive training that will teach you the concepts, mechanics, and applications of market fundamentals as well as the interface between products and markets. Then you'll begin seven three-month rotations throughout the following operations areas:

  • Collateral management
  • Exception resolution
  • Equity operations
  • Derivative settlements
  • Commodities, credit, rates, and middle office
  • WFS settlement operations
  • WFS operations solutions
  • Project management
  • Futures and derivatives clearing
  • Prime services
  • Operations Control Group

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or masters program within any major with a graduation date by June prior to program start date
  • The ability to research, compile, and perform in-depth analysis on critical operational data, and provide summaries and recommendations based on that data
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical, and resolution skills
  • Exceptional reporting and analytical skills, and a general understanding of operations policies and procedures
  • Superb interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and strategies, both verbally and in writing
  • Proven team-building skills and success in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in handling multiple projects and assignments while maintaining a high level of performance
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior Operations experience performing analysis and/or former military involvement
