Toby Whateley, Business Strategist: The PVSI group stands for payments, virtual solutions, and innovation. And it's a way to spread innovation across the bank.

Laura Perdiue, Business Initiatives Consultant: I'm on the innovation team. And my group specifically is around ideation. We are driving innovation across all the different lines of business. And a lot of people don't think that banks are innovative. When I was in college I definitely did not think banks were innovative. And from my entire career, I've sat within an innovation group. And it's amazing to see that we are really trying to push the envelope and the boundaries in such a regulated environment to service our customers better.

Molly Wilcox, Strategy Consultant: We really, as an innovation group, we want to facilitate progressive thought and thinking outside the box and really encourage people to stop their day to day, to think of things in a totally new perspective, and inspire solutions that we haven't thought of before.

Toby: People are looking for solutions. And it's not so much, well, you can't do this. It's more of, how do you do this? And that was the thing that I really appreciated with all of my partners. In the projects that I've worked on, I come with a problem or we talk through a solution. And we say, how do we solve it together?

Laura: And it's great because our team member network is so large that we have all this brainpower to give feedback and enhancements and improvements and efficiencies to the greater good and make these projects better. And so some of the things that we're seeing right now are artificial intelligence, which is surprising to hear at a bank. Because you think a bank just moves money. But we have all this data. How do we make something happen with this data, not just for ourselves, but for our customers? Because that's really the true focus of all the things that we do.

Molly: What originally drew me to the Wells Fargo innovation group was that they are a community of people that really encourage creative thought, progressive thinking, and thinking outside the box. And as somebody who comes from an English literature background and experience as a writer, that was something that was really important to me. Wanting to get my voice heard and being in a creative community of people that are always just looking to push the boundaries.
